Vladimir graduated from the State Gnessin Musical and Pedagogical Institute in 1978 and did a fellowship course at the same place in 1982.
He worked in the Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Television, Opera and Ballet Theatre of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko (solo trumpet and the brass section leader), Symphony orchestra of the Ministry of Culture of USSR (as a soloist), Russian National Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonia.
He is a winner of the union and international competitions and an author of a number of scientific and methodical works as well as studying programmes. He gives open lessons and master-classes in multiple cities within Russia and abroad. Twice he has been invited to the Royal Academy of Music (London.1997,1999)
He has been a member of a number of competition for music performers on wind instruments.
Many students of Vladimir Pushkarev became winners of Russian and International competitions and soloists in a number of professional orchestras.
