Flute workshop in Gnessin School

The “Flute Generation XXI” workshop is an opportunity to participate in group and individual lessons with top musicians and teachers – laureates of international competitions:

  • Denis Lupachev, a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra and associate professor at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory;
  • Diana Krivenko, head of the department of orchestral wind and percussion instruments at the Gnessin Special School of Music;
  • Zoya Vyazovskaya, a teacher at the Gnessin Special School of Music;
  • Stanislav Yaroshevsky, a soloist and regulator of the flute group at the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra, associate professor and head of the department of wind and percussion instruments at the Maimonides State Classical Academy;
  • Hürkan Ayvazoğlu, the principal flute of the Izmir State Opera and Ballet, a teacher of flute and chamber music at the Izmir State Conservatory (Turkey).

The workshop offers three passes options, and participants can also sign up for additional courses on improvisation and studying orchestral difficulties. The total number of workshop participants is limited to 25 people.

The schedule of concerts for the “Flute Generation XXI” workshop:

  • Teachers’ concert – August 8, 19:00, Organ Hall
  • Participants’ concert – August 12, 11:00, Mansard

Cost – 56,000 rubles (excluding the entrance fee of 5,000 rubles).

Number of participants – no more than 5 people.

The pass includes:

8 individual lessons

  • 2 individual lessons of 60 minutes each with Diana Krivenko
  • 2 individual lessons of 60 minutes each with Stanislav Yaroshevsky
  • 2 individual lessons of 60 minutes each with Denis Lupachev
  • 2 individual lessons of 60 minutes each with Hyurkan Ayvazoglu

  • Personal video recording of the participant’s concert-discussion

Video recordings are provided as a link to a cloud storage (Yandex Disk).

Participants of Pass No. 1 can receive additional individual lessons with the flute workshop teachers (by agreement with the teachers).

Cost of additional individual lessons:
45 minutes – 3,000 rubles.
60 minutes – 4,000 rubles.

Cost – 41,000 rubles (excluding the entrance fee of 5,000 rubles).

Number of participants – no more than 10 people.

The pass includes:

“Improvisation. Flute Generation XXI”

Zoya Viazovskaya’s Author’s Course

Cost – 12,000 rubles. Six group lessons.

The improvisation course is only available to members of the “Flute Generation XXI” workshop. Classes are suitable for flutists of any age.

Improvisation is a free conversation in the language of music. When we learn any language, we inevitably encounter areas for improvement: grammar, reading, listening, speaking. When we study music, which, although it may not tell us what color the flowers are, can describe what words cannot do – we devote immeasurably much time to grammar (solfege, specialty), listening (musical literature, specialty), and reading (analysis of works). But it turns out that even though we memorize other people’s poems, it’s difficult for us to talk about something in our own words. Even simple ones.

Improvisation is the key to understanding music from the inside, from the perspective of the creator.

“Studying orchestral difficulties. Flute Generation XXI”

A course of group lessons by Stanislav Yaroshevsky and Denis Lupachev

Cost – 8,000 rubles. Four group lessons.

The course of group lessons on studying orchestral difficulties is available only for the participants of the “Flute Generation XXI” workshop. The lessons are suitable for flute players studying in colleges and universities.

This course will introduce the participants to the basics of orchestral performance on the flute. During each lesson, the participants go through several compositions and get acquainted with the features of their performance.

The list of recommended compositions will be published later. The scores are also provided in advance to the course participants.

Each participant can choose and prepare orchestral flute solos that are not included in the recommended list.

Participants are advised to get acquainted with all the compositions in advance and have flute solo scores with them during the lessons.

Participants of the “Studying orchestral difficulties. Flute Generation XXI” course can receive additional individual lessons on orchestral difficulties from Stanislav Yaroshevsky and Denis Lupachev (by agreement with the teacher).

Individual lessons are not included in the “Studying Orchestral Difficulties. Flute – 21st Century Generation” course and are extra paid.

Cost of individual lessons:

45 minutes – 3,000 rubles

60 minutes – 4,000 rubles.
